The Opportunity
As a Water Play Park Attendant – Level 2, you will:
- Work alone for extended periods, ensuring the facility remains safe, clean, and operational.
- Educate the public on the facility policies and procedures related to their safety.
- Monitor the activities of the facility and conduct of patrons, emphasizing the prevention of accidents and injuries.
- Respond to emergency situations and perform first aid when required.
- Greet patrons and ensure they are provided with any relevant information.
- Clean change rooms and the entire water park area.
- Complete daily operational checks and performs basic mechanical and operational tasks.
- Conduct water tests and monitor water balance.
- Inform the Water Play Park Head Lifeguard when equipment and chemical adjustments are required.
- Ensures safety equipment is maintained and must be knowledgeable to trouble shoot operational equipment failures (chlorination and filtration systems).
- Ensure that all checklists and documentation is completed on every shift and keeps the Water Play Park Head Lifeguard informed.
This position involves a lot of interaction with the public so applicants must have strong interpersonal and communications skills, and a commitment to delivering great service.
Qualifications
- Intermediate First Aid, and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
- Preference will be given to those with a National Lifeguard award and/or holds a current Life Saving Bronze Cross award.
- Ability to work independently and when working alone for extended periods.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and logically to handle customer concerns and emergency situations effectively.
- Strong customer service, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Shift supervisor experience is considered an asset.
Hours of Work
Water Play Park Attendants must have a flexible schedule, including availability for evening and weekend shifts. A minimum commitment of 12 hours per week is required. Shift options include 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
Compensation
$20.81 - $25.34 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
