The Opportunity
The Utilities Branch of our Public Operations department has an exciting opportunity for a Term Asset Management Coordinator.
Reporting to the Senior Utilities Engineer, the Asset Management Coordinator is responsible for advancing the Utilities Asset Management Program. This position will assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of short and long-term repair, maintenance, and rehabilitation (RMR) programs, refining prioritization criteria, collaborating with the corporate Asset Management group, and coordinating Enterprise Maintenance Management and Asset Management (EMM-AM) software integration (an integrated approach to computer maintenance management software or CMMS for the City).
The incumbent shall receive, manage, interpret, and input large volumes of data, including condition assessments, flow monitoring, and land development records, into datasets. They will compile information in formats that may be analyzed and queried for broader network reporting. This position is responsible for performing ongoing data validation and quality control checks to ensure the integrity of information.
Additionally, the Asset Management Coordinator will maintain a comprehensive and accurate inventory of utility assets and implement effective asset lifecycle management strategies. The role will produce efficient reporting outputs that feed into asset analysis and inform strategic capital planning.
This position will also be required to manage/coordinate project implementation on an as-needed basis as well as perform field investigations to review asset conditions, document considerations in relation to received public concerns or asset management practices and identify locations and types of data required for project delivery.
The individual we seek is personable and collaborative, detail-oriented, organized, and can work independently and as part of a team in both technical and non-technical settings. We are looking for a team member with excellent communication and time management skills, as well as strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field and a minimum of one year of related experience preferably in a municipal government setting associated with municipal engineering or asset management. OR A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related field and a minimum of three years of related experience.
- Experience working with asset management programs and knowledge of infrastructure asset management principles and process is preferred.
- A Diploma/Certificate in Asset Management is considered an asset.
- APEGA Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) designation or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) certification is an asset. Equivalent out-of-province credentials with eligibility for E.I.T. or C.E.T. registration will be considered.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (high efficiency with Excel is preferred).
- Knowledge of Asset Management software, Info Asset Planner, ArcGIS and/or CMMS software is an asset.
- Strong knowledge and skill with web applications, such as ArcGIS online.
- A valid Class 5 Drivers License and a personal vehicle for work use is required.
Hours of Work
We offer a compressed work schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 with a regular day off [RDO] every two weeks).
HYBRID REMOTE WORK
The City of St. Albert offers options for Hybrid Remote Work. This position may be eligible to apply for Hybrid Remote Work. That means the majority of worktime (51+%) will be completed in the designated workspace, and the remainder may be worked remotely.
Compensation
$64,602 - $79,509 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a generous and comprehensive benefit package.
