Job Description
The Lot Attendant/Grounds Maintenance Worker ensures safety is the #1 priority. Your main duties include parking and moving of company vehicles throughout the lot, delivering vehicles to and from dealerships, helping in the wash bay, greeting customers at the front counter, cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of outdoor areas, such as lawns, buildings, and the company lot, planting greenery, cutting and maintaining the healthy growth of plants and grass, and keeping the grounds clean and well-manicured.Responsibilities:
Lot Attendant:- Parking Vehicles in assigned spaces
- Cleaning incoming vehicles to ensure they’re presentable
- Maintain the cleanliness of the lot, including removing debris and trash
- Affixing license plates to vehicles
- Assist in the movement of vehicles between the lot and the service department, to and from dealerships
- Replacing batteries in car keys
- Adhering to safety procedures and policies
Grounds Maintenance
- Landscaping & Lawn Care: Mow, edge, and fertilize lawns; plant and maintain shrubs, trees, flowers, and hedges.
- Maintenance & Upkeep: Weed gardens, prune trees/shrubs, rake leaves, and remove trash or debris from grounds.
- Equipment Operation: Use and maintain, or repair, powered tools and machinery, including lawnmowers, tractors, leaf blowers, chain saws, and clippers.
- Assemble and set up machinery or equipment
- Seasonal Tasks: Perform snow removal from walkways and driveways (shoveling, blowing, salting) in winter and prepare beds in spring.
- Site Improvement: Install or repair fences, walkways, lighting, and irrigation systems.
- Safety & Compliance: Apply fertilizers and pesticides safely to control insects and weeds
- Perform preventative maintenance and service
- Inspect and diagnose problems and figure out the best way to correct them
Required Skills, Qualifications, & Competencies:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.), and work indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with horticulture, safe handling of power tools, and proper planting techniques.
- Reliability: Valid driver’s license and the ability to work independently or within a team.
- Strong customer service skills, including the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner
- Time Management Skills: Adaptable and able to meet deadlines and respond calmly to stressful situations
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team toward achieving common goals.
- 2 – 4 years of previous experience in a Lot Attendant and Grounds Maintenance roles
- High School Graduate.
- Class 5 with a clean driving record
Working Conditions/Hours:
- The candidate will be required to work around vehicles outside in any weather conditions and inside the building.
- Part-time, 3 days a week, early mornings/evenings/weekends
- With potential for a full-time position in the future
