The Opportunity

The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individual to join our Financial & Strategic Services department as a Part-Time Revenue Services Coordinator.

Reporting to the Accountant III (A/R), this position will be responsible for assisting internal and external clients at the front desk with payment acceptance, accurately recording and safeguarding payments, and providing information about the City of St. Albert and its services. The incumbent ensures that revenues are properly recorded in both the City’s General Ledger (G/L) and bank account.

The key responsibilities will include:
  • Serve as a key point of contact, representing the City, handling customer concerns, maintaining confidentiality, and providing directions and information to visitors.
  • Process and record all revenue, including taxes, utilities, and miscellaneous payments, and manage EFT payments and purchase orders.
  • Order, verify, and manage petty cash and change, assist with reconciliation and audits, and ensure accurate recording of daily deposits and receipts.
  • Investigate and correct revenue irregularities, ensure accurate bank account adjustments, recommend fee adjustments, assist with annual audits, and manage cash orders for City departments as needed.
  • Support Revenue Services, assist with transactions, reconciliations, filing, and manage department supplies and revenue-related items.
  • Administer and support the Tempest system, including developing training procedures, implementation, and providing support for departmental inquiries and requests.
The individual we seek is a professional front desk representative with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma plus a one-year certificate in Business or Accounting from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with a minimum of three (3) years in a revenue/accounting related field. Or A two-year diploma in Business or Accounting from a recognized post-secondary institution, along with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a revenue or accounting-related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Tempest, Agresso Financial Software, and Chase POS Terminal, with the ability to navigate multiple systems efficiently.
  • Strong negotiation, customer service, and time management skills, ensuring positive interactions and effective problem-solving.
  • Strong attention to detail is required for this role, including the ability to accurately manage revenue processing, reporting, and data management tasks.
  • Professional, compassionate, and empathetic approach in all communications and client interactions.

Hours of Work

This is a permanent part-time position working 54 hours bi-weekly. (Monday to Friday). Additional hours may be required to cover vacation periods.

Compensation

$30.28 - $36.17 per hour. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a generous and comprehensive benefit package including pension (LAPP)
