Community and Services Navigator

St. Albert Family Resource Centre is a non-profit organization serving families in St. Albert and the surrounding communities since 1982. Our mission is strengthening families through meaningful and educational programming in a safe and supportive environment. We are currently looking for a full-time Community and Services Navigator.

The Navigator is responsible for incoming and outgoing referrals connecting clients to the appropriate services ensuring that barriers to service are reduced whenever possible. This position works under the direction of the Operations Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Accept incoming service and client referrals and complete client screens.
  • Identify appropriate referrals to community supports and forward referrals using the established referral process.
  • Have knowledge of community supports and provide information on resources and programs in and around St. Albert.
  • Current knowledge of best practices in trauma informed mental health (e.g., crisis de-escalation, risk assessment, anti-racism, gender-based violence, suicide prevention, harm reduction).
  • Maintaining client information on internal database.
  • Participate in interagency meetings and other community events.
  • Recording information inquires, phone calls, and walk-ins for weekly/monthly reporting.
  • Gather program statistics at month end.
  • Able to work as a team member and independently.
  • Represent St Albert FRC professionally and positively at all times.
  • Able to adhere to St. Albert FRC policies and procedures.
  • Take on additional tasks as directed by the Operation Manager.

Qualifications required:

1. Minimum of 2 years Human Services field experience and related education.

2. Combination of education and/or work/lived experience in Social Services, Community Work or other related field

3. Proficient in working with Microsoft Office Suite and Teams, adobe.

4. Knowledge of Trauma informed practices and training.

5. Experience working with databases.

6. Excellent interpersonal skills, communication and written skills.

7. Proven organizational ability with the capability to multi-task.

8. A proven ability to handle change and transition in a fast paced environment.

Hours of Work:

Full-time (37.5)

Monday – Friday 8:30-4:30 pm

Start date: As soon as possible

Salary: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
