The Opportunity

The City of St. Albert is seeking to hire casual Labourers to join our Transit branch within the Public Operations Department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Refuel, servicing, vacuum, wash, and spot-clean Transit vehicles to maintain readiness.
  • Perform general cleaning and upkeeping duties within the Transit facility and yard, including grass cutting, snow removal and other tasks.
  • Safely drive, park, and assist in the maneuvering of transit buses within the Transit facility.
  • Operate a variety of equipment such as forklifts and floor sweepers, to support day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

  • A valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license with fewer than six demerits is required; a Class 3 license and/or airbrake endorsement is preferred.
  • High school diploma combined with relevant work experience.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 60 lbs. and working efficiently in a shop environment.

Hours of Work

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Shift Times: 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM or 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Compensation

$17.92 - $20.83 per hour
