Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a qualified full-time Educational Assistant 2 , for a work assignment at Sturgeon Heights School. This assignment is subject to change based on operational requirements.Sturgeon Heights School is located within the city of St.

Albert boundary and is a Kindergarten to Grade 9 school with approximately 450 students. Sturgeon Heights School encourages students to be critical thinkers, engaged in their own learning environment, and creative with their problem-solving. FTE: 1.0 FTE; 32.5 hrs/week; Monday to Friday; Full-Time Temporary Initial Assignment: Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Educational Assistant will work in a grade K-9 classroom to support students with complex social, emotional and behavioral skills. Qualifications & Experience: Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Diploma or Certificate is required, complemented with one year of experience working with students with challenging behaviours and applying positive behaviour supports.

CPR, First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training are desirable. Equivalencies that consist of a combination of education and a minimum of 2 years related experience may be considered.Hourly Rate: $18.82 - $23.57 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.ABOUT STURGEON PUBLIC SCHOOLSSturgeon Public Schools prides itself on doing things a little differently.
