Wages at Work - Workshop
Description

Employment Standards - Wages at Work Workshop
Wages are often an employer’s largest expense. Prevent time-consuming claims and errors at work by following Alberta’s Employment Standards Code and Regulation.
A good understanding of Alberta’s minimum standards for employee pay can lead to improved employer/employee relations. It can also help employers establish their own company policies and avoid those that may require costly corrections later.
The WAGES AT WORK workshop provides a comprehensive, interactive learning experience that provides participants with a clear understanding of the rights and obligations of employers and employees under the Employment Standards Code.
Topics to be discussed include:
Payment of earnings / Deductions / Pay stubs / Payroll records / Hours of work and rest / Minimum wage / Overtime and overtime pay / Vacations and vacation pay / General holidays and general holiday pay / Termination of employment / Employment of youth / Self-employed/subcontractor relationships / Job-protected leaves (maternity, parental, reservist and compassionate care)
Who should attend?
This workshop is targeted at business owners, managers, supervisors, human resource professionals, payroll and accounting administrators.
