Tree Care: Best Management Practices
Leonard Burkhart, Jr., Ph.D. will cover general practices to help keep your trees looking their best. Just as one may need to tend to their lawn, one must tend to their shrubs and trees. Learn about some of the International Society of Arboriculture recommended practices and also become aware of harmful practices.
Dr. Len Burkhart's Bio
Leonard F. Burkhart, Jr. Ph.D., is a horticulturist, with degrees in Botany, Agronomy, and Horticulture. His responsibilities include arboricultural and horticultural consulting, research, and science advising for The Davey Tree Expert Company in the Western Canada and Western U.S.
Dr. Burkhart joined Davey in 1991. Prior to joining Davey, he was a research and teaching assistant at the University of Illinois. He has more than twenty-five years of experience teaching horticulture and weed science.
Dr. Burkhart is a member of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), Western Chapter-ISA, American Society of Horticulture Science, Pesticide Applicators Professional Association (PAPA), and the PLANET Representative for the Council for Tree and Landscape Appraisers (CTLA).
