St Albert Sobeys is a locally owned grocery store committed to excellent customer service.
Our Meat Wrapper's role:
Our Meat Wrapper/Cutter will wrap meat for the meat cutters and cut meat when required. Ideally this candidate will have open availability to work days and evenings.
Experience
- Experience in a retail meat cutting environment is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Packaging and merchandising to Sobeys standards
- Assist meat cutters
- Stock the meat shelfs
- Clean up meat department when required
- Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
- Offers excellent customer service
- Reports directly to the Meat Department Manager and Assistant Meat Manager
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Preference is given to individual with meat department experience
- Highly motivated and team oriented
- Good interpersonal skills
- Possess strong customer service qualities
- Works in a safe and responsible manner
- Available to work flexible hours
- Evening and weekend availability is required
Physical Requirements
- Constant lifting of up to 10 pounds
- Constant standing
- Frequent bending and twisting
- Occasional lifting or carrying of between 10-40 lbs including waist level and low level lifts
- Occasional walking, squatting, pushing or pulling

Experience:
- Meat Wrapping Experience and experience in a retail meat department is considered an asset
Shift availability:
- Open availability is preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week

- 8 hour shift
