Landscaping Lead Hand
Full job description
Our Lead Hand is an experienced role that is familiar with all aspects of high-quality landscaping. This role will lead by example and be a positive influence on a crew, reporting to our Foreman. They will work closely with both experienced and less-experienced team members and be expected to assist in training best practices, while maintaining a safe working environment for all team members and our customers.
For those who qualify, we also provide the opportunity for year-round employment as we focus on Snow Clearing and Removal Services in the winter season.
General Tasks:
· Recognize safe operating procedures and proper training on equipment and uphold our safety culture and safe work practices
· Operate a variety of equipment:
o Truck and trailer
o Skid steers; with a variety of controls and attachments
o Excavator
o Mechanical compaction equipment
o Various power & and tools
· Elevated understanding of grade stakes for drainage plans
· Elevated knowledge of plant material
· Effectively grade soils and clay
Role Requirements:
· 3+ years experience in landscaping and/or construction
· First Aid Certification
· Equipment use and truck/trailer experience with applicable certifications; specifically in skid steer and excavator
· Physically capable with the ability to lift 50lbs, Bend, rotate and stand for long periods of time
Required PPE:
· Steel toed boots
· Safety glasses
· Hearing protection
· Gloves
· Face mask when working indoors and in close proximity to others – subject to change pending provincial health orders

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Seasonal
Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- St. Albert, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- landscaping: 3 years (required)
