Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the curriculum program
  • Prepare engaging and interactive lessons that promote student participation and critical thinking
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and respect
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and activities
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance'

Experience:

Previous experience teaching mathematics, preferably in a classroom setting

  • Familiarity with special education practices and strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics concepts, principles, and problem-solving techniques
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction, such as computerized math programs or computer science applications
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex mathematical concepts in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience in providing individual or group tutoring to students who require additional support

Qualifications:

  • Passion for math and working with students
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Eagerness to learn and be trained
  • Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
  • Ability to balance various ongoing tasks

All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Education:

  • Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

  • teaching: 1 year (preferred)
  • Tutoring: 1 year (preferred)
