Competition: JMD 24-25-0 70 Educational Assistant 1 /Library Tech 2 St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full Time, Temporary , Educational Assistant 1 (EA1)/Library Tech 2 (Lib2) for work assignment at Joseph M. Demko School. More than 9000 students are enrolled in St.
Albert Public Schools. From Preschool to Grade 12, our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence and their focus on citizenship and sound values. Hours of Work: 30 hrs./week (15 hours at EA1 and 15 hours at Lib2); 6 hrs./day; Monday-Friday; Full Time, TemporaryExpected Job End Date : Friday, March 7, 2025Hourly Rate: $21.98/hr (EA1) & $22.97/hr (Lib2), as per the CUPE Collective AgreementSpecific Needs/Requirements for this position: This role is split between library responsibilities and reading intervention supportNeeds for Library: Familiarity with automated cataloguing and classification systemsKnowledge of library materials and resourcesKnowledge of library related software (e.g. Destiny)Operating a library specific to elementary studentsExcellent organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills with a strong service orientationExperience in a library environment, preferably in a school setting, preferredCoordinate the circulation of school library resources in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining a positive learning environment of the libraryManagement of promotional activities such as book fairsNeeds for Reading Intervention: Experience implementing positive behavior support plan strategies requiredExperience implementing ILP and IPP goalsVerbal Intervention Training is an assetFormal Post-Secondary training is preferredCandidate must have strong skills in managing students' behaviorExperience working with a multi-disciplinary team an assetExperience working with students with various diverse learning and behavioural needs an assetPreferred candidates would have experience working with Division 1 & 2 studentsApplications, either written or electronic, must include documentation which describes: Highest level of formal education.Professional certificates, trade certificates, etc.Courses, seminars, specialized training.Experience related to the position.Other skills and abilities applicable to the position.In accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement, this position offers a comprehensive benefits package found under Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan.
