The LoSeCa Foundation is a non-profit agency based in St. Albert and North Edmonton that provides supports to adults with developmental disabilities. We are looking for a full time Bus Driver to transport individuals to and from the day program in the morning and late afternoon using a wheelchair accessible bus. The bus is a 16 passenger with the ability to transport up to 4 wheelchairs. During non route hours the Bus Driver may be asked to assist in the warehouse or with other delegated tasks.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
- Grade twelve (12) or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Proven ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions in English.
- Proven ability to deal professionally with the public and represent the foundation in a positive manner
- Experience working with, providing regular care, or assisting persons with physical and/or cognitive disabilities would be very beneficial but is not mandatory
- Valid Class 4 Motor Vehicle Operator's license (class 2 would be ok as well)
- Must have held valid operator's license for 3 consecutive years.
- Applicants must provide a minimum 5-year Driver's Abstract showing no more than 3 demerits (or equivalent) and no more than one (1) moving violation within 5 years and no past or pending license suspensions nor Criminal Code driving suspensions or convictions within 5 years. Non-driving related suspensions of registry services if indicated, must show a reinstatement date. Demerits reduced by attending a defensive driver training course are not accepted. The abstract is not required at the time of application but must be presented prior to start date if hired.
- Applicants must have at least 2 years’ experience driving a bus
- Selected applicants must provide 2 references from previous supervisors or human resources departments. All references will be contacted.
- Selected applicants must provide a clear Police Check including Vulnerable Sector Search
- Physical Requirements include loading and unloading individuals in wheelchairs and pushing/pulling wheelchair equipment as required. When assisting in the warehouse, you may need to life boxes or items up to 40 lbs.
