Our meat cutters role:
Our Meat Cutters cut and trim meat to Sobeys standard, package and merchandise while following specific food safety policies.
Experience
- 2 Years experience is preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Cutting meat, packaging and merchandising to Sobeys standards
- Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
- Offers excellent customer service
- Reports directly to the Meat Department Manager and Assistant Meat Manager
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Preference is given to individual with meat cutting experience
- Highly motivated and team oriented
- Good interpersonal skills
- Possess strong customer service qualities
- Works in a safe and responsible manner
- Available to work flexible hours
- Evening and weekend availability is required
Physical Requirements
- Constant lifting of up to 10 pounds
- Constant standing
- Frequent bending and twisting
- Occasional lifting or carrying of between 10-40 lbs including waist level and low level lifts
- Occasional walking, squatting, pushing or pulling
