St Albert Sobeys is a locally owned grocery store committed to excellent customer service.

Our meat cutters role:

Our Meat Cutters cut and trim meat to Sobeys standard, package and merchandise while following specific food safety policies.

Experience

  • 2 Years experience is preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Cutting meat, packaging and merchandising to Sobeys standards
  • Greets customers in a polite and friendly manner
  • Offers excellent customer service
  • Reports directly to the Meat Department Manager and Assistant Meat Manager

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Preference is given to individual with meat cutting experience
  • Highly motivated and team oriented
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Possess strong customer service qualities
  • Works in a safe and responsible manner
  • Available to work flexible hours
  • Evening and weekend availability is required

Physical Requirements

  • Constant lifting of up to 10 pounds
  • Constant standing
  • Frequent bending and twisting
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of between 10-40 lbs including waist level and low level lifts
  • Occasional walking, squatting, pushing or pulling

Job Type: Part Time

Salary: Varies on experience

Schedule:

  • Day and evening shift- shift varies so requires open availability
  • Holidays
  • Weekend availability

Experience:

  • Meat cutting (2 years preferred)

Shift availability:

  • Open availability is preferred

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 32 per week
