School Office Support I I

Full Time – 32.5 hours/week

Qualifications & Duties:

  • Committed to being a model and witness to Christ-centered education values and beliefs.
  • Apply foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis and Inuit for the benefit of all students, and support the Division's goals towards advancing Truth and Reconciliation.
  • High School diploma supplemented by related post-secondary education (ex. business administration courses).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a school or office environment.
  • Knowledge of basic office routines, procedures and practices is required.
  • Experience with cash, Accounts Receivable/Payable, purchasing, internal & external reporting, along with knowledge of internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical skills and general ledger reconciliation experience is required.
  • Experience with PowerSchool and/or other office administrative software is required.
  • Knowledge of and experience with PASI is essential.
  • Excellent spreadsheet & computer skills (MAC preferred).
  • Competency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point and gmail is required.
  • Experience with Google docs and/or Google apps for Education an asset.
  • Experience with school website data entry and updates preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and excellent phone etiquette and reception skills.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively with administration and school staff, as well as independently and with little supervision.
  • Ability to work appropriately with elementary students.
  • Ability to work in a welcoming and professional environment with parents and community members.
  • Administration support including preparing supervision schedules and Extranet reports.
  • Ability to approach challenging situations in a manner that is collaborative, constructive and solution-focused.
  • Coordinate information for substitutes on a daily basis including distribution of plans, Chromebooks, keys and data entry on the EASI system.
  • Management of student records
  • Management and submission of all required documents to Alberta Education via PASI.
  • Adhering to division protocols and provincial legislation related to the management of and access to confidential student and staff files (print and digital).
  • First Aid Training preferred (Commitment to obtain and maintain a minimum of Emergency First Aid)
  • Assist in the dispensing of student medications and supervision when students are in the general office area.
  • Flexibility in adjusting to changing assignments and all duties as assigned.
