About Us

COVID - 19 - The library has closed its physical doors until further notice but continues to reach out to the community through the online services. Go to our website for up to date information.

St. Albert Public Library is the community gathering place in St. Albert, with more visitors than any other downtown attraction. As well as over 170,000 books, DVDs (including the Quick Flicks hot box office movie collection), CDs and more, the Library also offers over 1,000 programs each year from children's storytimes and craft sessions, to teen film nights, to adult workshops and presentations. The Library stages an annual Readers' Festival (STARFest) in October, celebrates Alberta Culture Days with literary and other programs, hosts a business breakfast during Small Business Week, and takes part in a number of community events throughout the year.

The Library offers a wealth of digital resources. There are thousands of ebooks, movies, music, TV shows, and audiobooks to download through the Library's website. And for those who need some help and guidance with digital resources and their associated gadgets, the Library offers free tech and computer classes on a regular basis.

The Library also houses the Career Resource Centre, a partnership with the Government of Canada and the Alberta Government, which offers access to job websites and other resources including regular free courses on resume preparation, interview skills and job searching.
