Recreation Leaders (Spring Break and Summer Positions)



The Opportunity:

The Recreation & Parks department is looking forward to another great year of Spring and Summer camp seasons delivering over 85 camps for over 1300 children ages 3 – 12 in March, July and August.

The team is currently seeking talented and motivated individuals to develop and lead various preschool and children’s day camps. These camps take place at Servus Place, City of St. Albert clubhouses, and various outdoor spaces throughout the City.

We are seeking leaders who are interested in different activities such as cooking and baking, sports, biking, wizardry, superheroes, preschool activities, and outdoor recreation. Our leaders are paired with camps based on availability and activity interest. 

Our programs incorporate skill development through structured and unstructured indoor and outdoor recreation activities. Leaders are paired together and responsible for planning and implementing the activities with the children.

Qualifications:

• Experience supervising and leading activities with children.
• Interest in gaining more skills working with children and preparing program plans.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• We are looking for friendly and energetic individuals with great communication skills.
• Standard First Aid/CPR-C certification.

Hours of Work:

Spring Break: Employment term is March 16, 2020 with up to 8 hours per day between March 23- 27, 2020.

Summer: Weekday shifts (up to 40 hours per week). Employment term is June 22 - August 28, 2020, including Canada Day, and mandatory training will be held June 24 to 30, 2020.

Compensation:
Starting at $15.14 per hour

The successful applicant will be required to obtain (and/or maintain) a clear vulnerable sector police information check.
