JOB SUMMARY
Supporting the Gaming Information for Charitable Groups (GAIN) Program and reporting to the Coordinator, GAIN Program, the GAIN Information Specialist is responsible for delivering ongoing charitable gaming information in the province of Alberta.
The GAIN Program Information Specialist assists in developing and updating GAIN program content in collaboration with other program staff for delivery to both internal and external gaming stakeholders through a variety of different sessions and platforms. The Information Specialist, GAIN Program prepares session schedules and, when possible, accommodates approved special session requests. This position assists in special sessions, or promotional events, as required and demonstrates collaboration skills when liaising with various branches of AGLC.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a strong collaborator who can also demonstrate excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to help you succeed in your work with program participants, co-workers and AGLC management. You will also need exceptional writing skills and a knowledge of Instructional Design to draft program content based on your knowledge of charitable gaming policies and procedures. Strong time management and organizational skills are required to meet changing deadlines and programing needs. A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint) is required as well as a strong understanding of on-line training programs and virtual presentation experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Completion of High School with a minimum of four (4) years related experience in developing and delivering informational programs.
  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline preferred (education or human services) is an asset.
  • Certification in adult education/instruction is an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s licence and clear abstract.
  • Strong experience facilitating presentations or public speaking.
  • Knowledge of the Charitable Gaming Policy Handbook, Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Act, Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Regulation, AGLC policy, GAIN programs, and industry trends and best practices are assets
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally throughout Alberta primarily using a vehicle and travelling alone. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
  • Willingness to work outside of regular office hours (evenings and weekends as required)
